Dr. Zervos earned his B.A. in Economics, with Highest Distinction, from the
University of Michigan in 1988 and his Doctor of Medicine from the University of
Michigan, College of Medicine, in 1992. From 1992-1999, Dr. Zervos completed his
internship and residency in surgery, and a fellowship in surgical research at
the University of South Florida. Following that, he completed fellowships in
clinical surgical oncology at The Ohio State University and surgical oncology
research in the Division of Human Medical Genetics, laboratory of Albert dela
Chapell, PhD, Richard J. Solove Research Institute, The Ohio State University,
Comprehensive Cancer Center, Columbus Ohio.
In 2001 Dr. Zervos was appointed Assistant Professor of Surgery, Division of
General Surgery, Department of Surgery, University of South Florida and he
served in that capacity until 2006. During that time he also served as
Fellowship Director: Advanced GI Surgery Fellowship and Director of Surgical
Research. In 2006, Dr. Zervos was promoted to Associate Professor with tenure.
In July 2007, Dr. Zervos was appointed Professor and Chief, Division of Surgical
Oncology, Department of Surgery, The Brody School of Medicine, East Carolina
University, Greenville North Carolina.

Dr. Fitzgerald earned his B.S. degree from Wayne State University in 1990 and
his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Michigan, School of Medicine in
1994. Dr. Fitzgerald completed his residency in Surgery at the University of
North Carolina in 1996 and Washington Hospital Center in 2000. Following that he
completed his fellowship in Surgical Oncology at the University of Toronto in
2002.
In 2003, Dr. Fitzgerald was appointed Clinical Assistant Professor at Michigan
State University and he served in that position until 2008. In June of 2008, he
was appointed Associate Professor of Surgery at East Carolina University.

Dr. Wong graduated from Rush Medical College, Chicago, Illinois in 1978 and
completed his residency in general surgery at the Oregon Health Sciences
University, Portland Oregon in 1984. Following residency, he completed his
fellowship in surgical oncology at the University of California at Los Angeles
School of Medicine in 1987. From 1987-1993 Dr. Wong held positions as Staff
Surgeon and Chief of the Surgical Oncology Section at the Sepulveda Medical
Center, Sepulveda, California and as Associate Professor of Surgery at the
University of California, Los Angeles School of Medicine. In 1993 Dr. Wong was
appointed a Professor of Surgery at the John A. Burns School of Medicine,
University of Hawaii at Manoa where he served in that position until 2005. From
1998-2005, Dr. Wong also served as Director of the Sentinel Node Surgery and
Biology Program at the University of Hawaii School of Medicine. From 2006-2009,
Dr. Wong served as Professor of Surgery and Chief of Surgical Oncology at the
Loma Linda University School of Medicine, Loma Linda California. Dr. Wong is
board-certified in surgery by the American Board of Surgery.

Albert L. Wiley, Jr., BNE, MD, PhD has medical board certifications in Radiation
Oncology, Nuclear Medicine and in Medical Health Physics.
Dr. Wiley has served as a consultant/advisor to numerous US government and
international organizations , including the IAEA, WHO ,the UN, NRC, DOS( US
Embassy in Caracus,Vz. and Bagdad, Iraq), NCI, DHHS, DHS, DVF , NASA and at the
Chernobyl worker bioassay program. He has a Nuclear Engr. Degree ( N C State
Univ.) , an MD degree ( the Univ. of Rochester Medical School) and a PhD (Univ.
of Wisconsin-Madison). During his medical career as a radiation oncologist he
has been responsible for the care of approximately 10,000 patients.
He also was an active medical researcher at the University of Wisconsin-Madison
and at East Carolina University with over 200 publications in the areas of
combined chemotherapy/radiotherapy and particle therapy for treatment of various
cancers ,neutron radiation carcinogenesis, and in health physics and radiation
biodosimetry. As the program director for a special DOE(NNSA) medical ,radiation
emergency response group(REAC/TS) , from 2004-10 he led NNSA sponsored medical
training teams into Iraq, Japan, Kuwait ,Singapore, Morocco, South Korea and
South Africa and has been deployed by DOE(NNSA) to assist with medical emergency
response at international radiological accidents.
Dr. Wiley is also currently an Emeritus Professor of Human Oncology at the Univ.
of Wisconsin-Madison, a part time Clinical Professor of Radiation Oncology at
the East Carolina Brody School of Medicine and is a member of the US Navy
Retired Reserve.

Taylor Bell is a graduate of East Carolina University with a BS in Political
Science. During her college tenure she played soccer for the Pirates and at the
beginning of her sophomore year she was diagnosed with lung cancer at the young
age of 21. After diagnosis, surgery, and recovery; Taylor decided to become an
advocate for lung cancer and to speak and to be an advocate for those that are
not as fortunate. She is an advocate and volunteer for the North Carolina Lung
Cancer Partnership, and the Lung Cancer Alliance.
Ms. Bell works as the Community Outreach Coordinator for Carolina Well at the
Leo W. Jenkins Cancer Center in Greenville, NC. Carolina Well was formed in
partnership with the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, The Jimmy V
Foundation and LIVESTRONG and their mission is to help cancer patients
and their families have the highest quality of life after diagnosis. Her own
survivorship forms her work with other survivors.

Judy earned her BS from the College of Nursing at the University of Cincinnati
in 1983. She later received her MS in 1988 at Rush University in Chicago
specializing in the Oncology Nurse Specialist program. She is an Oncology
Certified Nurse through the Oncology Nursing Society and member of the Academy
of Oncology Nurse Navigators. Her experience encompasses working in a variety of
inpatient and outpatient medical oncology settings.
In 2009, she was hired by the University of North Carolina Cancer Cancer Network
to work at Leo Jenkins Cancer Center as a nurse navigator. She is the
coordinator of the weekly GI multidisciplinary tumor conference and facilitates
community referrals and timely treatment for patients diagnosed with a GI
malignancy. Her primary role involves assisting cancer patients and caregivers
to get access to what they need within the healthcare system while eliminating
barriers to care and treatment. |
