Survivor Stories

Marty

Marty thought he had a bad cold or, at worse, pneumonia. Instead, at age 36, he was shocked to learn he had a malignant tumor in the upper lobe of his right lung.

The lung cancer team of the Leo W. Jenkins Cancer Center’s Multidisciplinary Thoracic Oncology Clinic analyzed his situation and determined that Marty had a good chance at recovery. They prescribed chemotherapy and radiation, followed by surgery.

Marty has since returned to work as an auto mechanic and to a full life, thanks to the experts at the cancer center.
